Yvette Viasus has been serving as a Low-Income Community Solar and Energy Assistance Fellow with the U.S. Department of Energy at the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission since July 2023. In this role, she leverages her expertise in community engagement and low-income subscriber acquisition to support the development and implementation of the DOE’s Low-Income Clean Energy Connector Tool in New Mexico. Additionally, she aids the Public Regulation Commission in implementing the New Mexico Community Solar Program. Before her current position, Yvette worked for Solar Landscape, a community solar developer, as their Community Solar Engagement Manager. In this role, she led community partnership, education, and acquisition efforts, as well as engaged in policy advocacy. Yvette served as the Vice Chair of the Environmental Education and Communications Working Group on the Environmental Justice Advisory Council for the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability Science from Montclair State University.
